How To Download And Save Video On TikTok

SAVING YOUR OWN VIDEOS

TikTok actually makes it quite easy for users to save their own videos. Any TikTok user that has shared a video to their own profile can download videos. You just can’t download videos from other’s profiles.

So, if you want to download a video from your profile, just open up the TikTok app. Then you’ll want to tap on your own account icon at the bottom-right corner of the app. All of the video that you have shared on TikTok can be located in your profile page, so this is where we’re going to be able to download your videos.

To download a video, select the video that you want to save. The video will start playing; however, you’ll want to now tap the Share icon at the at the bottom right corner of the screen.

Instead of sharing to social media outlets, you should see an icon that says Download. Alternatively, it might be called Save Locally, depending on your version. We’ll want to tap on that one, and then the video will automatically begin downloading. This can take a couple of minutes, depending on your Internet connection.

Once it’s finished downloading, you should find the new TikTok video in your camera roll for you to hang onto forever. To verify this, you can head into your gallery app of choice. Open up your Camera Roll, or click on your Videos category. You should see the newly downloaded video in either, if not both.

SAVING VIDEOS FROM OTHERS

This is where things get complicated. TikTok does not support any way to natively download other users’ videos made on the TikTok platform. You just can’t. However, there’s a pretty easy way around this blockade. To get started, download the Video Downloader For Tik Tok off of Google Play for free. If you’re on iOS, you’re out of luck, as Apple doesn’t generally allow these Video Downloader applications on their platform.

Once you have Video Downloader for TikTok setup on your smartphone, go ahead and open the TikTok application. Find a video that you want to download and save on your phone. Tap on it.

Next, you’ll want to click on the Share button. But, we’ll want to press the icon that says Copy Link. This copies the link to the video in your dashboard. Now, return to home and open the Video Downloader for TikTok app.

Now, press the Copy URL & Download button. Paste the link in the text box, and then press the bright Download button. Video Downloader For TikTok will search for the video, and then the download will begin. Similar to earlier, this can take a little time depending on the speed of your Internet connection. One of the neat things about this app is that it saves videos without that silly watermark.

One of the neat things about Video Downloader for TikTok is that — sometimes — when you press that Copy URL & Download button, it pastes into the field automatically so that you don’t have to try and put the right touch pressure on your screen to get the paste function to work.

SAVING VIDEOS ON PC

Unfortunately, it’s not possible to download TikTok videos to your PC right now. There are plenty of video downloaders in the form of apps for TikTok, but there doesn’t seem to be any specific websites that will allow you to grab a TikTok link and then download that media file.

Now, the one option you do have — which doesn’t work 100% of the time — is to download a video downloader plugin or extension for your Web browser of choice. Sometimes — not always — these extensions will recognize TikTok videos as media content, and give you the option to download those as .mp4 files.
